Perth to Midland Bike Route

A combination of purpose built shared paths and local on-road links that provide a great bike ride without the need to travel along busy roads.

The route commences at the Perth Railway Station and follows the railway line for much of the way. There is a high quality shared path providing for easy riding between Perth and Bayswater. Between Bayswater and Midland the route is a mix of shared paths and on-road facilities.

Overall distance is 16km and will take between 2 and 3 hours to ride at a leisurely pace. The route connects with several town centres including Maylands, Bayswater, Bassendean and Guildford.

In addition, there are connections with Perth Bicycle Network Local Bicycle Routes. These on-road routes are along quieter streets and provide access to the Perth Midland Bike Route from surrounding suburbs and connect to the Swan River foreshore reserves.

Should you not wish to ride the entire route, you may consider taking your bike on the train, as Transperth welcomes bikes on trains. If you do take your bike on the train, please observe the on-board etiquette and observe the peak hour travel restrictions.

To read more about taking your bicycle on the train you can visit Transperth’s website.
